Meet Hannah Culver — Founder of Flora

If you've ever walked through the patio gates of Flora Café at Galletto, you've probably noticed something special. The busy streets of downtown Modesto seem to disappear, and for a moment, you're transported somewhere else, an Italian-inspired courtyard filled with flowers, fresh coffee, and a sense of zen.

What many people don't know is that Flora Café started long before its patio home.

My name is Hannah Culver and I am the founder of Flora Café. My passion for wellness began during my years as a Division I soccer player. As a student-athlete pursuing a degree in Nutrition, I spent countless hours learning how the foods and beverages we consume directly impact our energy, performance, and overall well-being. During those college years, I also discovered another passion (like most exhausted college students find): coffee and the café experience.

To many people, coffee is simply a daily habit. To me, it became an opportunity to create intentional moments of wellness and creativity.

When I moved back home after college, I decided to combine everything I loved: nutrition, wellness, community, and coffee and created The House of Well coffee cart. What began as a mobile coffee cart quickly became a way to share my vision with others at local markets and private events.

Every drink, like it is today, was crafted with wellness in mind. I sourced organic coffee beans from pachamama, agave-based syrups, and thoughtfully selected ingredients that aligned with a balanced lifestyle. My goal wasn't just to serve coffee; it was to create beverages that made people feel good, both physically and mentally. I wanted to create the simple coffee drink you know and love but also will love you right back.

As House of Well continued to grow, I was given an opportunity to move into a storefront space as a permanent pop up. That's when Flora Café was born.

The vision for Flora was simple: create a one-stop wellness shop where people could gather, connect, and enjoy experiences. Flowers and coffee naturally became the heart of that vision. Both have a way of brightening someone's day, slowing life down, and creating moments of joy.

Flora's first permanent pop-up home was inside of MoBaak Candle Co., where I spent eight months building relationships and growing our community. Those months taught me that Flora was becoming something much bigger than a coffee concept; it was becoming a third space and wellness hub for my community.

Today, Flora Café calls the outdoor patio of Galletto Ristorante home. Tucked away in downtown Modesto, it's a hidden escape where guests can step away from the noise of everyday life and experience a little slice of wellness, coffee, and connection.

At Flora, wellness isn't about perfection. It's about balance.

It's about finding joy in small moments, nourishing your body, connecting with your community, and creating space for things that make you feel alive. Sometimes wellness looks like an organic agave based latte. Sometimes it looks like fresh local flowers on your table. Sometimes it's simply taking a few minutes to slow down and enjoy a conversation with a friend.

My hope is that Flora Café continues to be a place where people can experience all of those things and act as a true wellness one stop shop for all.

Thank you to every customer, friend, family member, and community supporter who has been part of this journey. Your support has helped transform a dream into reality, and I couldn't be more grateful <3

This is just the beginning.

Welcome to Flora Café!

Wellness looks so good on you <3

xoxo,

Hannah Culver, Founder of Flora
